The Just Water concept was founded more than 20 years ago in George. Products are manufactured and distributed within South Africa and beyond the borders.

The still water, sparkling water and flavoured drinks ranges are all endorsed by the Hear and Stroke Foundation. Our Flavoured water ranges are Low in kilojoules, diabetic friendly and aspartame free. 

Our water is purified, using reverse osmosis and ozonation, on water obtained from a public or private distribution system.

Still Water

If you are looking for a great tasting water – Look no further! The water products are “Pure Refreshment” as the slogan states. It is just water. Low TDS levels and the quality product of reverse osmosis. The water is a quality product that is produced with reversed osmosis and ozonated. This ensures that the water stays bacteria free till it is opened.

We use reverse Osmosis

Osmosis is water that is diffused through a semipermeable membrane towards a region of higher concentration to equalize the solution strength. Ultimate height difference between columns is the “osmotic” pressure.

Reverse Osmosis is applied pressure in excess of osmotic pressure that reverses the water flow direction, hence the term “reverse osmosis”.

The water prepared with ozone reduces the possibility of bacteria growing in the bottles and ensures that up until the point where the water is opened no bacteria can reach the product. With normal water / spring water the TDS levels are high, which gives the chance for bacteria growth being very high. With the combination of reversed osmosis and ozonated water the product is of a very good quality and taste. Our Still, Sparkling and flavored water as well as ice tea is treated to ensure that our products are of the highest quality, making Just Water a brand that you can trust.

To better understand the process, it is best to first understand how ozone is created. Ozone is born out of oxygen. An oxygen molecule contains two oxygen atoms (O2), while an ozone molecule contains three oxygen atoms (O3). When electricity or ultraviolet light stream through air, their energy splits oxygen molecules into two oxygen atoms. The loose oxygen atoms then recombine with ordinary oxygen molecules to form ozone. In the upper atmosphere, sunlight interacts with oxygen to produce earth’s protective ozone layer. While closer to the surface, ozone is created when lightning strikes and electricity cuts through oxygen rich air. Both processes are mimicked in ultraviolet and electrical ozone generators, which make ozone water treatment possible. Ozone can also be produced by electrolytic and chemical reactions, but UV and electrical ozone generators are the most common for water treatment.
